My Story

I began my photography journey at 17. My family moved to Stockton, California, in 2020 when the country was shut down due to COVID-19. One of the Californian Delta sloughs ran through our backyard. On the other side of the slough was nothing but farmland and beautiful sunsets in the evening. At night, I noticed the sky would light up with shining stars like I had never seen before. Sheltered in place and having to attend school online during the day, I was more fascinated to see white egrets, geese, and turkey vultures perched on a dead oak tree at a distance on the banks of the slough. Coming from the city, I was amazed to see so much wildlife up close right in my backyard. My mom knew that I liked taking pictures with my cell phone and that I seemed to have an eye for capturing the right shot at the right time. She offered to purchase a professional camera for me. She purchased the Canon T7, and my photography journey began.
